SUNDAY, JULY 14, 2019 – At approximately 19:45 hours, SIM (Montréal Fire Service) Station 51 firefighters on foot patrol in the town core of Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue, QC were alerted by passersby that a small boat had begun to take on water while moored in the canal off of Sainte-Anne Street. The owner(s) did not appear to be nearby and nobody was on the craft at the time. The boat sunk halfway into the water, spilling its contents, including fuel, into the canal, only to be retrieved by firefighters moments later. Among the items recovered were several open alcohol containers, which doesn’t seem to be legal due to the size of the boat and the fact that it does not appear to have permanent cooking facilities, permanent sleeping facilities or a permanent toilet, these being requirements to drink on board a docked boat in Canada.

DIMANCHE LE 14 JUILLET 2019 – Vers 19h45, des pompiers de la caserne 51 du SIM (Service de sécurité incendie de Montréal) en patrouille à pied dans le centre-ville de Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue, QC ont été avertis par des passants qu’un petit bateau avait commencé à prendre de l’eau alors qu’il était amarré au canal tout près de la rue Sainte-Anne. Le ou les propriétaires ne semblaient pas être à proximité et personne n’était à bord de l’embarcation à ce moment-là. Le bateau a coulé à mi-parcours dans l’eau, ce qui l’a fait déborder son contenu, y compris le carburant, dans le canal. Tout serait récupéré par les pompiers quelques instants plus tard. Parmi les objets récupérés figuraient plusieurs récipients d’alcool ouverts, ce qui ne semble pas être légal en raison de la taille du bateau et du fait qu’il ne semble pas disposer d’installations de cuisson permanentes, d’installations de couchage permanentes ou de toilettes permanentes, des exigences essentielles pour boire de l’alcool à bord d’un bateau amarré au Canada.
