Around 10:50 pm on August 23, 2025, the Montréal Fire Department received
numerous calls reporting a fire on the roof of a multi-unit residential building near the intersection of Champagneur Avenue and Crémazie Boulevard West in the Park Extension neighbourhood of Montréal, QC. Upon arrival, firefighters from local Station 41 declared that they saw smoke and fire showing. A first alarm (10-07) for a working fire was transmitted, which mobilized approximately 50 firefighters to the scene, confirms Section Chief Francis Fleury. Crews were able to quickly contain the flames, which did not have a chance to spread to the apartments below. The evacuation of residents from the building affected and from those adjacent to it was completed successfully by firefighters and police. There were no injuries to report. All signs of fire were doused less than a half hour into the intervention. Fortunately, the units within the fire building were still habitable and families were able to return to their homes by the end of the night. The cause of the fire is still unknown.

Le samedi 23 août 2025, vers 22h50, le Service de sécurité incendie de Montréal a reçu de nombreux appels signalant un incendie sur le toit d’un immeuble résidentiel à logements multiples, situé à proximité de l’intersection de l’avenue Champagneur et du boulevard Crémazie Ouest, dans le quartier Parc-Extension à Montréal, QC. À leur arrivée, les pompiers de la caserne locale 41 ont constaté la présence de fumée et de flammes. Une première alarme (10-07) a alors été déclenchée, mobilisant une cinquantaine de pompiers sur les lieux, confirme le chef de section Francis Fleury. Les équipes ont rapidement maîtrisé les flammes, qui n’ont pas eu le temps de se propager aux logements inférieurs. L’évacuation des résidents de l’immeuble touché, ainsi que de ceux des bâtiments adjacents, s’est effectuée sans incident, avec l’aide conjointe des pompiers et des policiers du SPVM. Aucun blessé n’a été rapporté. Toutes les traces d’incendie ont été éliminées moins d’une demi-heure après le début de l’intervention. Heureusement, les logements de l’immeuble affecté ont été jugés habitables, permettant aux familles de regagner leur domicile dès la fin de la soirée. La cause de l’incendie demeure inconnue à ce jour.
