Montréal | SIM, SPVM & Urgences-Santé On The Scene Of High-Angle Rescue Call (False Alarm)

SATURDAY, JUNE 2, 2018 – At approximately 21:20 hours (EST), SIM (Service de sécurité incendie de Montréal) firefighters, officers with the SPVM (Service de police de la Ville de Montréal) and Urgences-Santé EMS paramedics responded to a 911 call regarding a man who was on the roof of a vacant two-story commercial building at 4866 Sainte-Catherine Street East in the Viauville neighbourhood of the Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve district of Montréal, QC who might have been threatening to jump off. The SIM High-Angle Rescue team from Station 13 and the Technical Rescue team from Station 47 were immediately dispatched as well. Upon arrival, firefighters set up a giant inflatable cushion below the building and police officers established a perimeter but nobody could be found on the roof. The incident was deemed a false alarm and after about 10 minutes, everyone on the scene began to pack up and leave.
