Montréal | Montréal Fire Service (SIM) Operating at 2nd Alarm Côte-des-Neiges Apartment Fire

SATURDAY, APRIL 7, 2018 – At approximately 22:40 hours (EST), SIM (Service de sécurité incendie de Montréal) firefighters responded to a call of a fire that had started in the basement of an apartment building at 5613/5615 Coolbrook Avenue in the Côte-des-Neiges district of Montréal, QC. Upon arrival, Station 4 firefighters, who were first due on the scene, called in a code 10-07 (intervention necessary) and requested additional resources. The fire was upgraded to a 2nd alarm a few minutes later. Officers with the SPVM (Service de police de la Ville de Montréal) also attended the scene to provide traffic control and establish a perimeter around the scene. One male was treated and transported to a local hospital by Urgences-Santé paramedics for smoke inhalation. No other injuries were reported, only material damages were sustained. At about 0:00 hrs (EST), firefighters terminated the intervention and began leaving the scene. SIM Fire Investigators stayed behind to inspect the building.
