TUESDAY, DECEMBER 5, 2017 – At approximately 7:00 PM (EST), a Transports Inter-Nord semi truck struck a low-clearance bridge on Guy Street between Argyle Avenue and Saint-Antoine Street W in the Downtown district of Montréal, QC. SPVM (Service de police de la Ville de Montréal) officers responded to the scene to close off the street and to allow the safe removal of the trailer by towing crews. A Canadian Pacific Railway Police Service officer also responded to the scene since the truck had struck CP Railway property. Officers investigated the collision and pointed out that there were multiple signs indicating that trucks were prohibited to proceed under the bridge and that there was also a yellow sign with flashing lights indicating that the clearance height was a mere 3.7 metres. The tractor and trailer were towed away separately and the street was later cleared for traffic.
Footage was taken on December 5, 2017.
