THURSDAY, DECEMBER 14, 2017 – At approximately 2:45 PM (EST), SIM (Service de sécurité incendie de Montréal) firefighters received a fire call at 2660 Bossuet Street in the Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve district of Montréal, QC. Upon arrival, firefighters reported that flames and smoke were showing and before long, a fifth alarm was declared. The building in question was an uncompleted and vacant four-storey condo complex. SPVM (Service de police de la Ville de Montréal) officers evacuated about a dozen nearby homes and power was cut to the area to prevent further damage. At this time, the cause of the fire is unknown, however firefighters are believed to have seen several propane tanks on fire when they first arrived. No injuries were reported.
