Saint-Léonard | Montréal Fire Department (SIM) – On The Scene Of A Working Basement Fire (10-09)

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 28, 2017 – At approximately 8:30 PM (EST), a fire broke out in the basement of a residential building at 9289 Saguenay Street in the Saint-Léonard district of Montréal, QC. Upon arrival, SIM (Service de sécurité incendie de Montréal) firefighters sounded the 1st Alarm (10-09) and reported that the fire was spreading to the first floor of the building. SPVM (Service de police de la Ville de Montréal) officers were also requested at the scene due to a violent man harassing firefighters. At about 9:30 PM, firefighters were able to completely knock down the fire. At least one person was treated for smoke inhalation by Urgences-Santé and transported to hospital. There are no details about how the fire started, however SIM Fire Investigation Unit 911 was on the scene to find out the source.
