Here you will see a short interaction between two SPVM (Service de police de la Ville de Montréal) officers and a man who looked to be disturbed and very agitated. Before the camera began filming, the man had been walking haphazardly in the middle of eastbound lanes on Dorchester Boulevard in the Montréal suburb of Westmount, QC, all the while seemingly unaware of the danger he was putting himself in. Coincidentally, SPVM police officers from the Traffic Safety and Motorcycle Divisions were busy shutting down Atwater Avenue due to a water main break when they spotted the erratic behaviour of the man. He was told to get onto a sidewalk by one officer, however a short time later he attempted to cross the intersection while traffic heading westbound on Dorchester Boulevard had a green light. This lead to him blocking several lanes of traffic while they had the right-of-way, and it didn’t seem to bother him. A second officer, who had been watching the man the entire time, exited his vehicle and proceeded to physically make sure that the man got back onto the sidewalk. Then, in front of two police officers who were watching him, he proceeded to jaywalk across five lanes of traffic, all the while not having the right-of-way to cross. Thankfully, he decided to move on down the street, finally using a sidewalk.
Footage was taken on August 2, 2017.
