WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 2, 2017 – At approximately 4:00 PM (EST), the SPVM (Service de police de la Ville de Montréal), SIM (Service de sécurité incendie de Montréal) and Westmount Public Safety responded to a water main break at the intersection of Sainte-Catherine St. and Atwater Ave. in the Montréal suburb of Westmount, QC. Police and Public Safety promptly closed down access streets and firefighters were on standby, supposedly to ensure the structural integrity of surrounding structures. No injuries or significant property damage were reported. The City of Westmount’s Public Works Department are currently in the process of repairing the water main and the street above it.
