Here you will see a collection of videos in which two of SBDRS (Sauvetage Baie-d’Urfé Rescue Squad)’ trucks can be seen showing off their emergency lighting. Unit 24-31, affectionately named the “BAT” (Big A** Truck), is a 2014 Ford F-550 equipped with a Light Rescue body built by Maxi Métal Inc. Unit 24-30, simply named “The Transporter”, is a 1999 Chevrolet Express 3500 van used mainly for personnel transport during Search and Rescue operations. Here is a brief description of their mission statement:
“Sauvetage Baie-D’Urfé Rescue Squad (SBDRS) is an all-volunteer service that provides training in emergency response services (ICS), First-Aid as well as traffic control to the members of the Baie-D’Urfé Squad. The members also work with other local rescue groups such as the Pointe Claire Volunteer Rescue Squad, as well as Lakeshore Rescue. Some training sessions are shared by the three groups. The mission of the Sauvetage Baie-D’Urfé Rescue Squad is to provide competent and caring aid to the victims of emergencies in our community, through prevention, public education, and emergency services. Our goal is to cooperate with other services and better respond to the public we serve.”
Footage was taken in September and October of 2016.
